Care guide

Caring for your furniture

A little routine care keeps every piece looking its best for years. Find your material below for the essentials.

Fabric

Upholstered sofas, chairs, and beds.

  • Vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust before it settles into the weave.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — press, don't rub.
  • Spot-clean with a little mild soap and lukewarm water; test a hidden area first.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  • Rotate and plump loose cushions regularly so they wear evenly.

Leather

Full-grain and top-grain leather pieces.

  • Dust weekly with a soft, dry cloth, wiping along the grain.
  • Wipe spills at once with a dry cloth — never soak leather.
  • Condition every 6–12 months with a quality leather conditioner to keep it supple.
  • Keep at least 30 cm from heaters and out of direct sun to avoid drying and cracking.
  • Avoid solvents, alcohol, and abrasive cleaners.

Stone

Marble, sintered stone, and terrazzo tops.

  • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner.
  • Blot acidic spills (wine, citrus, coffee) immediately — they can etch the surface.
  • Use coasters, placemats, and trivets under hot, wet, or sharp items.
  • Avoid abrasive pads and acidic or bleach-based cleaners.
  • Reseal natural stone periodically to keep its stain resistance.

Wood

Solid wood and veneer frames, tables, and cabinets.

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, following the grain.
  • Wipe up spills promptly so moisture doesn't sink in.
  • Use coasters and placemats; lift rather than drag items across the surface.
  • Keep away from direct heat and sun, and aim for stable indoor humidity to prevent warping or cracking.
  • Avoid silicone- or ammonia-based sprays; an occasional wood-safe polish is plenty.
