Super Queen or Super King?
Every frame comes in Super Queen and Super King. As a rule of thumb, leave about 60 cm of clear floor on each side of the bed for a bedside table and for getting in and out, plus room at the foot to open wardrobe doors. In many 4-room master bedrooms that points to a Super Queen; larger 5-room and executive master bedrooms can usually take a Super King. Our queen vs king guide runs through the numbers.
Measure the frame, not just the mattress. A frame with a padded headboard is wider and longer than the mattress it holds, and every product page lists the frame's real length, width and height for each size.
Mattress length: 200 cm or 190 cm
Each frame comes in a standard version for 200 cm-long mattresses and a version for 190 cm-long mattresses. Many mattresses sold locally are 190 cm long, so if you're keeping one you already own, check the length on its label before you choose. A matched frame holds the mattress snugly, with no gap at the foot.
Under-bed storage
Selected frames offer an under-bed storage lift as an add-on, as either a parallel lift or an end lift. The base lifts up to reveal the space beneath, which is handy in a compact BTO bedroom for luggage, spare bedding and things you only need once a year. The product page shows each frame with the lift open, so you can see what you're getting.
Materials, care and delivery
Most headboards are upholstered in top-grain leather on the contact surfaces; others use soft fabrics such as tech velvet and chenille. Frames are solid wood, on steel-and-wood slat bases. Wipe leather with a soft, dry cloth and condition it every six months or so, vacuum fabric headboards regularly, and avoid pushing the headboard tight against a damp wall in humid weather.
