Sizing a dining table for your flat
Plan for the chairs, not just the tabletop. As a rule of thumb, leave about 90 cm between the table edge and the wall behind each chair so people can sit down and stand up without a squeeze, and allow roughly 60 cm of table edge per person. A 140 cm table seats four comfortably, and 160–180 cm seats six, which suits many 4-room dining areas.
Round and oval tables have no corners to bump into and keep conversation easy for four. An extendable table gives you a compact size for daily meals that opens up when the family comes over. Our dining table sizing guide has the full numbers. Long tabletops also need to clear your lift and front door, so measure both; our guide to measuring HDB lifts shows how.
Sintered stone, natural stone or solid wood?
Many of our tables have sintered stone tops: a dense, engineered surface that resists heat, scratches and stains and takes Singapore's humidity in its stride. Marble, travertine and other natural stone tops bring real veining and texture; natural stone is more porous, so blot wine, citrus and coffee quickly and reseal it now and then. Solid wood tables feel warm under the hand and age well with a little care. With young children, an oval table or one with rounded corners takes the edge off busy mealtimes.
Bases range from solid wood and wood veneer to carbon and stainless steel, and some round tables offer a lazy Susan for shared dishes.
Delivered, carried in and assembled
Stone tops are heavy, so our team carries the table in and assembles it in your dining area. Each table is built to order, direct from the factory, and arrives in about 30–35 business days. Delivery is free on orders over $600, and there's a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Dining Tables: common questions
- What size dining table fits a 4-room HDB flat?
- As a rule of thumb, a 160–180 cm table seating six suits many 4-room dining areas, as long as you can keep about 90 cm clear behind each chair. Measure your dining zone and compare it with the table's listed dimensions before ordering.
- Is a round or rectangular dining table better for a small HDB?
- Rectangular tables use space most efficiently against a wall, while a round table is more sociable for four and has no corners to bump. If you entertain occasionally, an extendable table gives you both a compact daily size and room for guests.
- Is sintered stone good for Singapore's humidity?
- Yes. Sintered stone is dense and non-porous, so it doesn't absorb moisture or stains the way natural marble can, and it resists heat and scratches. Wipe it with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.
- Do you have extendable dining tables?
- Yes, several of our tables extend, giving you a compact size for daily meals and more room when guests visit. Look for 'extendable' in the product details.
- How long does a dining table take to arrive?
- About 30–35 business days from your order, since every table is built to order. Our team delivers, carries in and assembles it, with free delivery on orders over $600.
