L-shaped sofas
More seats, a corner to curl into, and room to stretch out. L-shaped sofas suit living rooms with a clear corner and a walkway that doesn't run through it — every page lists the real dimensions so you can check before you choose.
Will an L-shape fit your living room?
Measure both arms of the L against your walls, then leave a walkway of roughly 75–90 cm in front and 40–60 cm, depending on how you sit, to the coffee table — rules of thumb from our furniture clearance guide. In many HDB living rooms the L works best tucked into the corner away from the main door.
Deciding which side the chaise goes on? Our guide to left- vs right-facing L-shaped sofas walks through door, window and TV positions.
Getting it home
An L-shape usually travels in sections, which helps in a tight lift. Take the five measurements in our HDB lift guide before you order, and message us if anything is within a few centimetres.
L-shaped sofas: common questions
- Is an L-shaped sofa too big for a 3-room or 4-room flat?
- Not necessarily. Check both arms against your walls and keep the main walkway clear; a shorter L or a 3-seater often fits where a large corner sofa won't.
- Which side should the chaise be on?
- Usually the side away from the main walkway and door, facing the TV. Naming conventions vary between sellers, so always confirm the orientation before ordering.
- Will an L-shaped sofa fit in my HDB lift?
- L-shapes generally come in sections, so the largest section is what matters. Measure your lift and door, and send us the numbers if it's close.
